Sumeru RegionMap and Regional HistorySettlements began here during the Meiji period, springing up around the Sumeru Mountains
and their associated temples. The Isle of Fogs has continuously eluded humanity's attempts
to tame the wild island; the fogs shipwrecking many during the early part of the 20th Century
until the advancement of technology led the discovery of the chemical imbalance emanating
from the volcanic rock.
The Permafrost Lake and its associated Palace was once a summer-home for a high-ranking
royal official, and within it resides a full waiting staff, still awaiting the return of the official's
family line. The Long Beach begins just over 13 miles from the seabed and is actually considered
a Dwarf Desert, although the locals kept the old name for sentimental purposes.
Sansai City began life as a merchant's rest-stop in the basin of the mountain, eventually growing
to the major-conglomerate city it is today. Skyscrapers are common, as are noodle-chains,
internet cafés and coffee shops.
Seijitsu, on the other hand, maintains the purity it began with, having once been the living quarters
of the Temple Monks. Recently, a number of incidents at the nearby Bio7even Industries power
plant has threatened many lives in the surrounding rural districts, and has had warning imposed
over the safety aspects, inducing an overhaul of the plant's security and procedures.
